Abyssinians
The Abyssinian breed of Guinea pig is known for its short and long, rough coat that has cowlicked rosettes of hair. The derivation of the breed's name is unknown, but does not connotate an origin in the geographical region of Abyssinia. The ideal Abyssinian has 10 rosettes, one on each shoulder, four across the back, one on each of the animal's hips, and two on the rump. Some judging bodies, such as the ANCC, consider shoulder rosettes optional but desired in show cavies. A harsh-textured coat that stands on end to form ridges is desired.

Phoenix
Phoenix, a blue roan, was the very first boar we got. He was born in May 2007 and is SUCH a character. He's very affectionate and loves a cuddle. He sired our very first litter here at Guinea Pigs Gone Wild.
Huey Lewis
Huey is our Tort and White show stopper. He has done us so proud in the show ring and has also sired a few litters this year. He was born in December 2009 and came from Derek Pikes lines.
Johnny Cash
Johnny is a roan and our number one baby sitter, he LOVES baby boars. His colouring is beautiful and hopefully we shall give him a chance in the show ring soon (when he's finished his babysitting duties first!!). A very forward character, he was born November 2009, and comes from Lindsey Clydesdale lines.
Franky Valli
Franky is still a young boar and has yet to sire a litter. He is a very dark brindle and is a valued breeding boar. He comes from Andrew Garrity's line.
Felix
Felix was born in May 2010, and is the son of Phoenix and Bea, and sister to Beau. He was in the first ever litter here at Guinea Pigs Gone Wild and is doing well on the show circuit at the moment.
Dennis Wilson
Named after the Beach Boy drummer, Dennis is brother to both Suzie & Annie and is a spritely little boy. Good rosettes and we hope to try him in the show ring and also at breeding.
Blackberry
Blackberry came to us in May when we bought him home from a show. We don't know how old he is but unfortunately he can't be used for either showing or breeding as he doesn't seem to want to grow and is a bit on the skinny size. It would be unfair to breed with him because his condition could be genetic and so we have paired him up with Fraiser the Peruvian to live with for the rest of his days. We usually find him cuddled up to Frasier in the Winter months to keep warm.
Bea
Bea already had had a litter when she came to us. She was kindly given to us by Lindsey Clydesdale who helped us with lots of information when we started breeding. Bea is a wonderful mother and is Mum to Star, Beau and Felix. We decided to retire her after her 2nd litter (which was our very first litter) due to her gaining a lot of weight afterwards. She is a nervous little girl, but has no problem shouting for her food!!
Star
Star came from Lindsey Clydesdale, and her mother is Bea. Born in December 2009, we are thrilled with the litters she has produced so far. A much valued breeding sow and such an oddball character.
Hope
Hope is a gorgeous Tort & White sow from Derek Pikes lines who is a wonderful mother and gets on wonderfully any sow she is housed with.
Faith
This beautiful girl is also from Derek Pikes lines and is mother to Suzie, Annie & Dennis. Lovely temperament, and as friendly as Hope.
Beau
Beau is Bea & Phoenix's daughter and sister to Felix. She was the only sow in our first ever litter and has a forward and bold personality just like her Dad. She will be a valued breeding sow in the next few months.
Suzie Quatro
Suzie was born in August and is daughter to Huey and Faith. She is almost all white apart from 2 eye patches of black and red. A bold little character, unfortunately her rosettes are not show standard, but we think she will make a fabulous breeding sow and we hope to maybe get a completely white Aby with her.
Annie Lennox
Annie is the sister to Suzie and daughter of Huey & Faith. A little more reserved than her sister, but she has better rosettes. We hope she too will make a good breeding sow.
